Thomas, baptised 16 July 1699, Bitton ("Thomas ye Son of Thomas & Hanah Batman"). Hanah, baptised 28 February 1696/7, Bitton ("Hanah ye daughter of Thomas Batman"). John, baptised, Bitton ("John sunn of Thomas Batman"). The children baptised at St Mary, Bitton, were: Thomas Batman of Upton Cheyney was almost certainty the father of Thomas (ba 1699), but it is unclear which of the other children were his. Two of the children (George and Amy) were baptised less than three months apart, which suggests more than one person named Thomas Batman was living in Bitton during this period. The parish registers of St Mary, Bitton, and the parish's chapelry of St George, Hanham Abbots, record the baptisms of several children of a Thomas Batman between 16. his sister Margarett Groom, the wife John Groom, gunsmith, late of Beach in the parish of Bitton,Ī transcript of the lease gives the name of one the witnesses as "Ellias? Batman.". 
Thomas, who is described as a carpenter of Upton Cheyney, in the parish of Bitton,.He leased the land from George Foord, gentleman of Upton Cheyney, "for Fourscore and Nineteen years for three Lives". On 26 April 1688, Thomas Battman entered into a lease for a close in Upton Cheyney in the parish of Bitton, Gloucestershire, and two parcels of land in Micklemead. Thomas was Christened on 31st December 1656 in Bitton, Gloucestershire to Samuell Batman father.
